Residential Section Replacements

So you hit your door…

It happens. Your garage door wasn’t fully open before you started to back out—and then crunch. Or maybe you just pulled a little too far forward in the driveway. Regardless of how it happened, if the rest of your door is still in good shape, the easiest and most economical solution may be to simply replace the damaged section rather than the entire door.

What is a section?

A “section” is one horizontal panel of your garage door. Most residential garage doors are made up of three to five sections, connected by hinges that allow the door to bend and roll up along the tracks when it opens. Each section plays an important role in the overall strength, balance, and appearance of your door.

If just one section is dented, cracked, or bent—but the rest of the door is in good shape—a section replacement can restore your door’s appearance and function without the cost of a full replacement.

How do section replacements work?

The first step in replacing a section is identifying the brand and model of your existing garage door. Not all doors are still being manufactured, so an exact match isn’t always possible. Our team will do the research to determine if a matching replacement panel is available.

If an exact match can’t be found, we may be able to install a similar panel that blends so well most people wouldn’t even notice the difference.

However, in some cases, a suitable replacement just doesn’t exist. When that happens, we’ll help you weigh your options—whether that’s installing a slightly mismatched panel or upgrading to a brand-new door that fits your home perfectly.
